Field Trip: Habitat Survey

  • 03/26/2015
  • 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Flag Ponds Nature Park, Lusby
Co-sponsoring Organizations: MNPS, Calvert Nature Society, and Calvert County Natural Resources Division

Throughout the spring and summer, we’ll be holding several plant surveys as part of a bird banding study habitat assessment and need volunteers. Even if your plant identification skills are rusty (or lacking), helping staff and more experience volunteers record data, take photos, and create maps will allow you to learn how to identify the common and uncommon plants in the area.

Leaders: Karyn Molines

Directions: Flag Ponds Nature Park, 1525 Flag Ponds Parkway, Lusby, MD 20657 (Calvert County)

Contact: Calvert County Natural Resources Division CypressSwamp@co.cal.md.us or 410-535-5327

Bring: Hand-lens, binoculars, and field guides are optional. Bring a lunch for after the survey, if desired.

Notes: Dress for the weather and wear comfortable hiking shoes.

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED, as the park is not open to the public and we need to know who's coming. Registration is limited.
