This park is one of Montgomery County’s Best Natural Areas. Natural features include mature upland forest, floodplain forest, palustrine wetlands, streams, river-rock outcrops, a diversity of wildlife and grand views of the Potomac River and C&O Canal.

Notes: Moderate hike with moderately steep slopes. Ken considers himself an amateur, but you won't get lost and we will have fun pooling our plant knowledge. Bring: Any field guides you like, binoculars if you want, water and a snack.
