MNPS Field Trip: Uncultivated: Exploring Wild Urban Plants

  • 10/02/2011
  • 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
  • Clipper Mill Road at Ash Street, Baltimore, MD

Artist Lynn Cazabon will discuss her ongoing project, Uncultivated, while demonstrating how she goes about choosing a site and photographing the plants she finds there. Along with horticulturist Chris Partain, she will also discuss attributes of the plants we discover at this site. Uncultivated is a multi-faceted representation of the urban landscape of Baltimore which seeks to draw attention to the tiny pockets of wildness within the urban environment in order to break down hierarchies that privilege certain aspects of nature at the expense of others. (http://uncultivated.info) This field trip follows her talk at MNPS’ September monthly meeting in Montgomery County.
