MNPS Field Trip: Spring Flowers at Flag Ponds
Leader: Karyn Molines

Along a lovely 1 mile trail on the cliffs of Calvert overlooking the Chesapeake Bay, a carpet of toothwort, Dutchman's breeches, saxifrage, and violets lay under paw paw, oaks, viburnums and other trees and shrubs.
Early spring warblers and other birds--Louisiana Waterthrush, Yellow-throated Warbler, Blue Gray Gnatcatcher among others--will provide a musical backdrop.

We'll meet at Parking Area 2. Come early and have a picnic at the beach before meeting us for the hike at noon. Restrooms are at the Visitor Center, so arrive earlier enough to stop there before heading to the Parking Area.
There is no entrance fee to the Park  on Fridays (until Memorial Day)

Bring: Hand lens, binoculars, cameras. Wear comfortable walking shoes & dress for the weather.

Contact: Karyn Molines mnps@chesapeake.net
Registration: online preferred.
Will go in light rain, if you register online you will be notified by email by 8 am on 4/19 if the trip is canceled.
