MNPS Field Trip: Exploring Elk Ridge in Summer
Leaders: Liz McDowell & Ron Boyer
Elk Ridge Native Plant Preserve, Grantsville, MD
10:00 am to noon

This is the second in a series of field trips exploring the Elk Ridge Native Plant Preserve through the seasons. This forested ridge lies within the Mid-Atlantic Highlands, the largest interior hardwood forest in the world's temperate latitudes. Landowner efforts to preserve regional biodiversity have helped protect several uncommon plants and animals on this conserved land adjacent to the Savage River State Forest. Summer wildflowers and members of the Rose family will be the focus during this easy to moderate walk along forested trails. A species list will be recorded and shared with participants.

Sorry, no pets are allowed and no rest rooms are available.

Directions will be sent to registrants.

Registration is required but is not available through this website. To register: contact Liz McDowell, lmcdnativeplants@hughes.net.
