Title:  Fort Connector between Fort Dupont and Fort Stanton

Civil War Fort Sites in Washington, DC- over 100 walks led in this longstanding series.

Leader: Mary Pat Rowan and Lou Aronica

We will visit the Fort Circle Connector between Ft. Dupont and Ft. Stanton to investigate the geology and plants of the Terrace Gravel Forest and a storm water control project on parkland which we have anticipated but not yet seen.

Directions: Get on Pennsylvania Avenue SE and travel south east from Minnesota Avenue (east of the Anacostia River). When you get to Branch Avenue (a lighted intersection) turn right on Branch and take the first right on Park Drive. We will meet where 32nd Place meets Park Drive.

Bring: Lunch, or a snack, and water. Wear appropriate shoes and clothing.

Cancellation Policy: Cancelled if raining, but call Sunday morning before 9:00 AM if weather is uncertain and you are concerned about cancellation.

Notes: Easy to moderate walk.

REGISTRATION IS NOT REQUIRED.
