MNPS Field Trip: Patapsco Valley St Park, McKeldin Area

Leader: Bob Ringler

We will walk about 2 miles over moderately strenuous terrain, carrying lunch. Here are some plants that could be observed: Walking Fern, Umbrella Magnolia, Pawpaw, Green Dragon, Dog Violet, Spring Cress, Spring Avens, Goats Rue, Greek Valerian, Wild Comfrey, Lyre-leaved Sage, Robins Plantain, Potato Dandelion, Dwarf Dandelion, Nodding Trillium, Carrion Flower, Puttyroot, and Pennywort. We will also look for birds along the way.

Directions: Meet in the first parking lot after the entrance at 9:30 AM. From I-70, drive north on Marriottsville Rd about 4.5 miles to the park entrance on the right.

Rain date is June 8. The walk will be postponed for moderate to heavy rain or thunder storms. Postponement will be shown on this listing and on the MNPS home page by 8 AM on June 7.

Fees: No fee for the field trip but there is a fee to enter the park.
