Silent Auction - Native Treasures

Annual Fall Conference Silent Auction

Browse, bid, take home a Native Treasure and support the Maryland Native Plant Society at the MNPS Fall Conference Silent Auction. Native Treasures may include books on plants and other natural history topics, botanical art, crafts, jewelry, plants, and more. Specific items may be listed closer to the conference date.
Please bring your checkbook or cash. We are working on a way to accept credit cards at the conference, but it has not been confirmed yet.

Silent Auction Donations Wanted

Do you have a botanical or nature-oriented item that may be someone else’s Native Treasure? Consider donating to the “Silent Auction - Native Treasures” sale to be held Saturday, Sept 17 at the MNPS Annual Fall Conference.

Suggested items include weekend getaways, fun experiences, field guides, ecology or other natural history books, binoculars and scopes, native plants, nature art and fine crafts, field attire and accessories, hiking poles…

Items should be in very good to excellent condition.

In addition to individually bid items, those of lower value (under $25) will be sold on a pay-what-you-will table. This is a good way to recycle interesting nature books in good condition that you no longer want. If you are donating several books, it would be best if you could bring them to the conference Saturday morning.

Items should be in very good or excellent condition.

If you have an item to donate:

Please contact Fran Toler at

Also, please provide the following information ahead of time so we can create the bid sheets and plan for table space available to display the items.

  • Name of item
  • Description of specific item or service being donated
  • Estimated retail value
  • Donor name(s) as you want it to appear on the bid sheet
  • Contact information in case we have questions about the donation
Deadline for donations: September 10.

Donated items may be brought to the MNPS monthly programs July 27 and August 24 with the requested information attached.

If you are going to the conference, the item may be delivered the morning of the conference, but the requested information should be provided before the September 10deadline.

All proceeds will benefit MNPS programs.
These include Marilandica publications, the MNPS website, field trip notifications, the annual conference, and the MNPS annual research grant program.
