Speaker: Kerrie Kyde, Invasive Plant Ecologist, DNR Natural Heritage Program

Are you tired of walking through your favorite natural area and seeing exotic invasive plants and their effects on Maryland’s natural habitats? Join a group of citizen scientists to catalog, quantify and map invasives in some of Maryland’s most ecologically significant areas, collecting the baseline data to support targeted, efficient management and control efforts on public lands. DNR Invasive Plant Ecologist Kerrie Kyde will describe the program, and how it works, its linkage to the work of the Maryland Invasive Plant Advisory Committee, and how you can get involved.

Location: Kensington Library.

Directions: From the Washington Beltway (I-495)

Take Exit 33, Connecticut Avenue, north to the third signal after the Beltway. Turn left onto Knowles and go 2 1/2 blocks to the library on the right.

The meeting is open to non-members.

Registration is not required.
