The Smithsonian Environmental Research Center is the ideal place to demonstrate the effects of non-native earthworms on forest soils because there are places both with and without these earthworms there.

Leaders:  Katalin Szlavecz and her graduate student Chih-Han Chang

ONLINE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Limited to 20.

Registration through May 28 for members only.

FREE

Notes:   The trails are easy walking trails. There are some nice outdoor places to have lunch. There are other trails you can walk on your own after lunch if you wish. Also, you are welcome to stay for a talk by Chih-Han Chang which is at 3:00 pm.

Bring:  Water, lunch and snacks if desired. Boots are not needed, but closed toe shoes are advisable because of poison ivy along the trails.

Cancellation Policy: Light drizzle is fine but cancelled if heavy rain.
