We will explore the Boundary Bridge area of Rock Creek Park, where we’ll see river birch, American elm, sycamore, musclewood, black walnut, bitternut hickory, bladdernut, silver maple, pawpaw, spicebush and many other woody plants of the floodplain. Then we’ll climb into the upland woods where several species of oak, hickories, hop-hornbeam, American beech, mountain laurel, pinxter azalea and flowering witch-hazel are found.

Notes: We’ll cover about 2 ½ miles, mostly at a leisurely pace. Bottomland trail could be muddy so wear appropriate footwear.
There are no bathroom facilities available at our meeting point or along the walk.
Bring: Water and light portable lunch.
Cancellation Policy: Hike goes rain or shine unless conditions are dangerous or miserable.
