Sponsoring Organization: Maryland Native Plant Society
Once overrun with non-native invasive plant species, this 13-acre urban park in the heart of downtown Baltimore has been revived through the resurgence of its dormant native seed bank following the removal of invasives without the use of herbicides. Having worked as a volunteer in the park for 4 years, Duncan will share his experiences with this habitat revitalization project.
Leader: Duncan Stuart, Arborist and retired Senior Environmental Planner, Baltimore City Planning Department
Notes: Most of the walk will be on an ADA-friendly trail with optional brief forays off-trail.
The Baltimore Museum of Art is adjacent to the northern boundary of the park.
Cancellation Policy: Canceled if heavy rain and/or lightning; not for light drizzle.
