Speaker: Rod Simmons

Rod Simmons, plant ecologist and MNPS board member, will continue MNPS’ “Year of the Conifer” with a presentation on the 18 species of conifers that naturally occur in Maryland, as well as their habitats, and an identification workshop of the 8 species of pine that are native to the state.  Herbarium specimens will be used for the hands-on identification.

Location: Kensington Library.

Directions: From the Washington Beltway (I-495)

Take Exit 33, Connecticut Avenue, north to the third signal after the Beltway. Turn left onto Knowles and go 2 1/2 blocks to the library on the right.

The meeting is open to non-members.
