Sponsoring Organization: Maryland Native Plant Society
We will hike the Seneca Creek Greenway Trail starting from Route 28. We will explore the wooded bluffs and overgrown meadows above Seneca Creek, and perhaps venture as far as the wooded slopes leading to Black Rock Mill. This stretch of trail has many invasives and we will search for the natives that can survive and even thrive under these conditions.
The leader cannot promise to provide unlimited botanical expertise, but we will have fun pooling our plant knowledge and learning together.
Leaders: Anne DeNovo and Marney Bruce
Notes: This is a moderate hike with some up-and-down walking and moderately steep slopes.
Bring: Any field guides you like, binoculars if you want, water and a snack, insect repellent.
Cancellation Policy: We will go in light rain or drizzle but will cancel in the event of heavy rain.
Directions: included in registration confirmation.
