Sponsoring Organization: Maryland Native Plant Society

We will explore a section of Wheaton Regional Park near Brookside Nature Center. Fall is a great time of year to identify trees using bark, berries, branches and buds (along with any lingering leaves). There will be ferns and some herbaceous plants in good enough shape to identify. Celebrate this down county park practically in your own backyard.

Leader:  Ken Bawer

Notes: Moderate hike with some moderate slopes. Hiking boots are recommended since the natural surface trails have rocks and roots. Brookside Nature Center has restrooms. The Wheaton Regional Park Trails map can be downloaded from:

Bring:   Field guides, binoculars, water, and a snack if desired.

Cancellation Policy:   If rain is imminent, we will cancel. If conditions are questionable, contact Ken.
