Sponsoring Organization: Maryland Native Plant Society and Montgomery Parks Weed Warrior Program
We will cross an open meadow and wooded area on our way to remove non-native invasive plants along Little Bennett Creek. We will also identify and enjoy the native plants in this area. You do not need to be a certified Weed Warrior to participate in this program.
Leaders: Anne De Novo and Ken Bawer
ONLINE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Limited to 12.
Notes: We will walk a short distance to the work site, 0.5 miles or less. The trail is flat, but may be muddy. One easy stream crossing. No rest rooms on site.
Bring: Water, insect repellent, sun or rain protection, field guides and snacks if you like. Bring work gloves, clippers and loppers if you have them. If not, we will have extra gloves and clippers you can use. Wear long pants, long sleeved shirts and closed toe shoes. We will be removing non-native invasives with thorns.
Cancellation Policy: Trip will be canceled in the event of heavy rain or storms.
