152nd walk in the Wild Washington- Forts series
We will return, after a long absence from this area, to part of the Civil War Fort Connector in the vicinity of Fort Carroll referred to as Shepherd Parkway. It is just south of St. Elizabeth's Historic Site. We will compare the vegetation we will see with a plant list from 2007. Leaders: Allen Browne and Claudine Lebeau REGISTRATION IS NOT REQUIRED. FREE
Notes: Easy to moderate walk. Bring: Water and lunch. Cancellation Policy: A light drizzle is fine but trip will be cancelled if pouring rain. The trip will be shortened if it is cold. Directions: From the north take I-295 south past Suitland Parkway to exit#2-Bolling Air Force Base/Malcolm X. Drive up hill going east and park on Malcolm X near Newcomb Street. From the south, take I-295 from the Beltway, proceed past South Capitol Street to Malcolm X, exit on right, and proceed as above.
