Starting from Owen’s Creek Picnic Area, we will follow Brown’s Farm Trail through an environmental study area, hardwood forest, a pine grove and wetlands, across a mountain stream and past an old farm homestead, with many mature trees and spring ephemerals.
This is the second of two MNPS field trips this spring at the same location. The first field trip will be a weekday walk led by Catoctin Mountain Park biologist Becky Loncosky on Monday, April 23.

Notes: We will walk a 0.5 mile loop trail, plus maybe a little additional walking. Trail is level, but has uneven ground and may be muddy. Restrooms at Catoctin Mountain Park Visitor Center. No restrooms on site.
Bring: Field guides, water, snack, binoculars if you like, insect repellant, sun or rain protection.
Cancellation Policy: We will go in drizzle or light rain but the trip will be canceled in the event of heavy rain or storms.
