Speaker: Marcia Mabee

Description
: Through a multimedia presentation, Marcia will take us to Naked Mountain, her 285 acre property in Nelson County, VA, one of 63 Natural Area Preserves under an open space easement held by the Virginia Dep't of Conservation and Recreation. During her years of stewardship, Marcia has made many fascinating discoveries about the flora and geology of her property, and she has faced the challenges of managing its conservation as a private landowner.

Marcia Mabee blogs about living in the middle of a natural area preserve and she is the author of a personal memoir entitled Naked Mountain, published in 2016 by She Writes Press. She has made her presentation to numerous groups in our region.

Location: Kensington Library, 4201 Knowles Ave, Kensington, MD
