Description: At one of the best sites in the DC area, see the amazing display of spring wildflowers as we walk along the Potomac River at Carderock. We will look for Virginia Bluebells, Squirrel Corn, Trout Lily, Dutchman's Breeches, Sessile Trillium, Cutleaf Toothwort, and much more. We will walk about 2 miles round-trip. The focus will be on plants, but we will be on the lookout for anything else of interest (e.g., birds, mushrooms, reptiles, amphibians, animal sign) and encourage participants to share their knowledge. For ages 18 and up.
Leader: Ken Bawer
