  • 7:30 PM
  • NEW LOCATION: Kensington Library, Kensington, MD

Registration is closed

Speaker: Brett McMillan

Pimple Dunes are curiously circular in footprint versus elongated likemost dunes and seem to be peculiar to the barrier islands off the Eastern Shore. Although only a few hundred square feet in area, they can support a very diverse community of plants. I'll present a description of these communities along with a slideshow of some of the interesting plants there.

Location: Kensington Library. PLEASE NOTE NEW LOCATION. Starting in July, 2011, monthly meetings will be at the Kensington Library until further notice.

Directions: From the Washington Beltway (I-495)
Take Connecticut Avenue north to the third signal after the Beltway. Turn left onto Knowles and go 2 1/2 blocks to the library on the right.

Additional information and directions to the Library

The meet starts at 7:00 pm, the speaker at 7:30 pm. You are encouraged to arrive early to socialize.

There will be refreshments. Pot luck refreshments are always welcome. Bring native plants for "give-a-ways"

The meeting is open to non-members.

Registration is not required.

Meetings take place on the last Tuesday of each month.
