Maple sugar making has been an early spring activity for centuries. This 2-session course will equip you to lead preschool and elementary-aged students on maple sugaring school field trips at Irvine. Learn how to recognize maple trees in winter, how to tap the trees to collect the sap, and how to boil down the sap down into maple syrup and candy. We will also cover teaching techniques and other signs of winter.
