We will be assisting the Bird Club in removing invasive plants, as well as cleaning up any roadside trash.  We will mostly focus in removing knotweed seedheads. This invasive plant is growing profusely on both sides of the road and is creeping into the sanctuary.  We will also be cutting English ivy stems, removing multiflora rose and Japanese honeysuckle.

Other activities while we are there: Spend a few minutes birdwatching with Bird Club members, see the Gravelly Branch creek of the Choptank River, and see some fall native species such as blooming wild asters and a gorgeous stand of golden-leafed spicebush shrubs.

Dress appropriately with sturdy shoes. Bring work gloves and garbage bags.  Also please bring loppers or hand clippers.

Adult volunteers only.
Parking across the sanctuary alongside the road.
Sorry, but no pets are allowed and no rest rooms are available.

Registration is not required.
