Winter Greens: Identification of plants that are green in the winter.
For ages 16 years through adult
Learn to identify some of our evergreen plants. We’ll explore the forests in search of the ferns, herbaceous plants, and trees that are green in the winter. Bring a lunch to enjoy after the hike. We’ll provide coffee, tea and cocoa.

Wear warm clothes for standing around outside (we won't be moving very fast)
Bring (optional, but useful) a 10x hand lens, binoculars, field guides.
Registration is not required, but registrants will receive notices of changes or cancellations. Register through the BCNES web site. No fee for MNPS or BCNES members.

Directions: Take Route 4 South into Calvert County. At Huntingtown, turn onto OLD TOWN ROAD (Rt. 524). Proceed to Bowen's Grocery Store and turn on HUNTINGTOWN ROAD (Rt. 521). At the 4-way stop sign intersection, continue STRAIGHT and you will be on KINGS LANDING ROAD. The road dead ends in the park.
