How to Shop for Native Plants (PDF, ~84 KB).

Our list of Native Plant Sources, lists nurseries and other plant vendors that have indicated that they sell plants native to our region.

We have a Shopper's Protest Card you can download and take with you when you go plant shopping. You can give these to the nursery growers to help to enourage them to grow the native plants you want, or to inform them that certain plants are invasive.

    The Baltimore Native Plant Sale offers a great opportunity to purchase native wildflowers, ferns, grasses, shrubs and vines not commonly offered by other retail sources. Here you can buy directly from the growers who propagate and grow the plants.
    Location: The Church of the Redeemer, 5603 North Charles Street in Baltimore. From the Baltimore Beltway (I-695), take Exit 25 south. Follow Charles Street 4.0 miles, and turn left into the church entrance.
    Payment: Not all vendors accept credit cards. Please be prepared to pay with cash.

    Discover the important connection between native plants, people & wildlife at this 7th annual event!

    Native Plant Nurseries   (large variety of plants native to the mid-Atlantic region available for sale; cash or check only in Parking Lot #4) Advance orders are appreciated!

    Conservation Organizations   (local experts will answer questions about native plants & and other natural resource topics at their display booths in the Lake House)

    Speakers (hour-long, digital presentations geared for teens & adults in the Recreation Hall)

    Family-friendly Activities (hour-long, led by MCC crew members; meet at MCC display in Lake House)

    Directions: From I-68 take exit 22 and follow signs for New Germany State Park.Turn left into the park onto McAndrews Hill Road. Signs will direct you to parking for this special event.
