2016 Conference: Maryland's Forgotten Bogs and Pine Barrens

Registration includes morning speakers, Saturday afternoon field trips and Sunday field trips, as well as coffee breaks and lunch. The Evening Social is *not* included in the registration fee.

Members: $65 (after July 31, $75)
Nonmembers: $75 (after July 31, $85)

Saturday Evening Social (includes dinner) $30 

If you need to cancel email Karyn Molines at, 50% refunds will be issue if cancellations are received by September 8. No refunds for cancellations after September 8.


On weekends free parking is about 2 blocks from the Student Union in Lot 1b or Lot Z. 

Free Parking: Continue past the Stamp Union and turn right onto Alumni Drive and park in Lot 1b or Lot Z. Walk back along Campus Drive to the Stamp Union.
Handicap parking: turn right on Union Lane and turn left into the parking garage. 
There is metered parking (not free) on Campus Drive and in the Union Lane garage. See for the fees for parking

From the Washing Beltway, Take Exit 25 for Route 1 Baltimore Avenue South
Turn right onto Campus Drive
Continue through the Campus. You'll Pass the Adele H. Stamp Union on the corner of Campus Drive and Union Lane.
Continue past the Stamp Union to parking lots 1b or Z.

This is also easy to access from University Blvd (Route 193).

    The Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia Native Plant Societies will meet together at the National Conservation Training Center in Shepherdstown, W VA.

    Field Trip will be held on the NCTC campus and at other locations, including:

    • Snavely’s Ford Trail, Antietam National Battlefield
    • Yankauer Preserve
    • Shannondale Wildlife Management Area
    • Cranesville Swamp

    Workshops include:

    • Designing with Native Plants
    • Introduction to iNaturalist
    • Beginning Botany
    • Maintaining a Field Sketchbook
    Accommodations: The NCTC has nice hotel-style rooms. Price is for the full weekend's food and lodging. 
    Single: One double bed; $300 per person
    Sharing: Two adults sharing one double bed; $220 per person
    Double: Two adults sharing a room with two beds (limited availability); $220 per person
    All meals from Friday dinner through Sunday lunch will be provided. No discounts for partial attendance.

    Off campus housing is available in nearby hotels (approx. $100/night). Those staying off campus must pay the $100 meal fee. All meals from Friday dinner through Sunday lunch will be provided. No exceptions.
